The Siemens Milltronics MSI Belt Scale

The Siemens Milltronics MSI is a high accuracy, full frame,  heavy-duty single idler belt scale used for process and load-out control suitable for monitoring products as diverse as sand, flour, coal, or even sugar. The Siemens Milltronics MSI belt scale provides continuous in-line weighing on a variety of products in primary and secondary industries and is proven in a wide range of extremely tough applications in mines, quarries, pits, power generating stations, iron and steel foundries, food processing plants, and chemical production facilities.

The Siemens Milltronics MSI patented use of parallelogram-style load cells results in fast reaction to vertical forces, ensuring instant response to product loading. This enables it to provide outstanding accuracy and repeatability even with uneven loading and fast belt speeds.

How to Align SIEMENS Beltscale Idlers

Proper beltscale idler alignment is critical for your beltscale to run at its best. Precise idler alignment is very important if maximum accuracy of the weighing system is to be achieved. Misaligned idlers will result in unwanted forces being applied on each idler in the weighing area, causing calibration and measurement errors.

The idlers in the weighing area must be properly aligned and leveled by shimming. This video explains how to align SIEMENS beltscale idlers in order to get the most out of your beltscale system.

Food Processing: Belt Scales Improve Tomato Processor Efficiency and Productivity

Belt Scales Improve Tomato Processor Efficiency
Belt Scales Improve
Tomato Processing
The following post is a case history on using alternative technology to improve large scale food preparation process.  You'll read about how belt scales outperformed legacy equipment for a tomato peeling process and increasing yield.

Application:

A tomato processor located on the Paciļ¬c coast uses the latest technologies in peeling, dicing, and packaging tomatoes. They were preparing to replace some of their older weigh feeders because of declining performance. One of their main concerns with installing new weigh feeders was the cost of moving the existing conveying systems in order to accommodate new weigh feeders.

See the document below for the full case history:
